Sachin Tendulkar dominates his sport comprehensively, but unlike them he is the sole focus of an entire nation and its quest for identity

Sachin Tendulkar, for giving me as many of those delicious awe-filled moments as any sporting genius of my time. Tendulkar is one of that narrow stratum of elite sports stars whom people will clamour and even make great sacrifices to watch, regardless of their national identity. If you care for cricket, you must love Sachin (and yes, that feeling can be found across Pakistan as well). In this regard, his peers are few - and mostly found in other sports, and certainly in other lands.
Sachin Tendulkar has been the most complete batsman of his time, and arguably the biggest cricket icon as well. His batting is based on the purest principles: perfect balance, economy of movement, precision in stroke-making, and that intangible quality given only to geniuses, anticipation. If he doesn't have a signature stroke - the upright, back-foot punch comes close - it is because he is equally proficient in each of the full range of orthodox shots (and plenty of improvised ones as well) and can pull them out at will.

Tendulkar's considerable achievements seem greater still when looked at in the light of the burden of expectations he has had to bear from his adoring but somewhat unreasonable followers, who have been prone to regard anything less than a hundred as a failure. The aura may have dimmed, if only slightly, as the years on the international circuit have taken their toll on the body, but Tendulkar remains, by a distance, the most worshipped cricketer in the world.

For all that, even genius has to remember that its MRF bat has seen so much cricket service, at 30+, that Ten is still young but not so young! What came instinctually to Sachin earlier needs a little more build-up,Sachin obliged espnstar with a brand-ambassador century certainly made his batting persona come through as even more telegenic

Sachin Tendulkar's entry into world cricket was very much hyped up by former Indian stars and those who had seen him play. By scoring his first half-century in his second match and his first century aged 17, Tendulkar's consistent performances earned him a fan following across the globe, including amongst Australian crowds, where Tendulkar has consistently scored centuries.[41] One of the most popular sayings by Sachin's fans is "Cricket is my religion and Sachin is my God".[83] Cricinfo mentions in his profile that "...Tendulkar remains, by a distance, the most worshipped cricketer in the world."

‘If Cricket Is a Religion, Sachin is God’
No need to ask, cricket is a religion in our country and Tendulkar is the epitome of it. There’s a huge visibility to Sachin, but I look beyond visibility. I look at his character and hunger (for the game)”.SACHIN "The God of Cricket",he proved it with completing his 20 years in international cricket and 17 thousand runs in one day cricket ,highest run getter in test cricket & 30 thousand runs in international cricket.when sir sachin started his carrier at the age of 16 year i was in std 5,i have seen him through out his carrier how the genius is playing fearlessly & devotedly for his country.many cricketers and famous people recommended sachin as best best man after sir don brad-man,in fact i have not seen him to play . i think sir sachin is the replica of sir don brad man not next to him.why ? because they never come across to each other during their carrier.so i think both are the best batsman of their respective era.

The comment on sachin by political leaders is totally inhuman, being a God sir have to forgive them.

AT LAST I WANT TO SAY,WE SHOULD RESPECT SIR SACHINE LIKE A GOD.BECAUSE HE HAS GIVEN HIS WHOLE LIFE TO INDIAN CRICKET AS GREAT PATRIOT.
